Welcome to fosterhope.ca,
a program of Foster Parent Support Services Society.
Today, there are more than 1,000 children and youth in foster care on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
And while there are hundreds of foster families committed to helping these children, we desperately need more families.
Mission Statement
The FPSSS Foster Parent Support Services Society is a Grass Roots organization committed to providing meaningful and accessible support, education and networking services which will continually enhance the skills and abilities of foster parents to deliver the best care possible.
Interested in fostering?
Fostering can be an incredibly rewarding experience. It can also be very challenging and frustrating at times, and it is important to take the time to consider if it is right for you and your family at this time.
People choose to become foster parents for many reasons, but all share a love for children and the desire to help those in need without an expectation of receiving something in return.

Why Foster
While our caregivers foster for a variety of reasons, all share a love for children and a desire to help those in need.
There are a variety of foster options, including: full time, temporary, emergency care and respite/relief. Therapeutic homes and homes for infants pre-natally exposed to drugs and/or alcohol are also urgently needed.
Learn moreFostering has changed my life in so many ways. There are lots of ups and downs. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat.
Our Kids
Children come into care for a variety of reasons, and each brings a unique set of rewards and challenges.
During this time of transition, these vulnerable children need and deserve the support of a nurturing and loving family. And that is where you come in.
