Foster Parent Support Services Received $2450 Donation from the Vancouver Island Baby Fair

VICTORIA – FPSSS Foster Parent Support Services Society was the beneficiary of funds raised through the photo contest, stroller parking and face painting donations at the Vancouver Island Baby Fair September 26th and 27th, 2009. Shirley Broback, producer of the Baby Fair will be presenting a cheque for $2450.00 to FPSSS at their upcoming Holiday Tea on Thursday, December 16th. The open house holiday celebration is a way to recognize the hard working efforts of the more than 300 foster families in the greater Victoria area.

“We were thrilled to learn that Shirley Broback (Laughing Belly Productions) had chosen us to be the recipient of a donation of $2,450.00 from the recent Vancouver Island Baby Fair” said Margaret Howley, Executive Director of Foster Parent Support Services Society. “This generous gift will go a long way in supporting a number of initiatives that will be of special benefit to children in care, such as: The Children’s Annual Christmas Party, “Kid’s Only” Shopping Day, a Children’s Art Contest, Life Books, Children’s learning DVDs, and Parenting Resource items for our library. We believe that LBP’s generosity will provide some fun and memorable opportunities for the kids, and we look forward to putting this donation to good use.”
